Dr. Lau K.C.

Dr. Lau is dedicated to promoting and developing the mLang program. For many years, he has worked closely with various schools to promote the mLang teaching methodology and applications to teachers and students. He previously served as an assistant principal in a secondary school, responsible for coordinating several Quality Education Fund (QEF)-funded programs supporting non-Chinese speaking students in learning Chinese. He developed school-based primary "Chinese as a Second Language" and intermediate "Immersive Chinese" courses and teaching materials. At the invitation of the Education Bureau, he also wrote the senior secondary "Immersive Chinese" textbook and conducted numerous teacher workshops, sharing his experience with secondary school teachers across Hong Kong who teach Chinese to non-Chinese speaking students. Two sets of school-based teaching materials he led the editing of, "Chinese as a Second Language" Volumes 1-12 and "Immersive Chinese" Volumes 1-10, were adopted by the Education Bureau (EDB) and distributed to schools enrolling non-Chinese speaking students.
