Innovate Language Education with Technology
In 2014, mLang® was co-founded by Prof. Loh Ka Yee Elizabeth from the Faculty of Education, the University of Hong Kong (HKU) [Former Assistant Dean (Knowledge Exchange) and Programme Director of BA&BEd Programmes] and Prof. Ki Wing Wah, Emeritus Professor of HKU; with the purpose of leading the development and application of innovative technologies with educational expertise, and innovating language education. By developing the mLang® scaffolding learning system, we helped students learn languages happily and efficiently, and use languages as the learning tool.

Under various charitable foundations and social innovation fund initiatives, we aim to scale up our mLang scaffolding learning platform and pedagogical services to reach over 100 schools, serving more than 30,000 teachers and students. Our scope of services spans kindergarten-to-primary transition, Chinese language learning for non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students, and English learning support for underprivileged students.

Partnering once again with Oxfam, we aim to enhance the Chinese language proficiency of 120 lower-primary non-Chinese speaking (NCS) pupils through story-based teaching and the mLang scaffolding learning system. Concurrently, the programme provides training for parents and tutors to effectively support and improve students' Chinese standards.
